The person should have an earned doctorate preferably in epidemiology or in a related area of public health.
It is expected that the person would have a track record of managing research projects and publications in high-impact peer-reviewed journals.
It would be important to possess experience in writing successful grant applications for funding.
The Institute specialises in population-based epidemiological studies for elucidation of risk factors for NCDs and their prevention.

Work Location: Sindhudurg District, Maharashtra
Tenure: 2 years period

Essential Qualifications:
• BDS/MBBS with a master’s degree in public health/MDS (Public Health Dentistry)/MD (Community Medicine) from a recognized university or Life Science background with PhD in Public Health related subjects
• Minimum three to four years of work experience from a recognized institution.
Desirable Experience:
• Experience in project management.
• Proficient knowledge in epidemiological studies (experience in oral health research is desirable).
• Knowledge of interventional research and experience in working with health systems
• Experience in conducting population studies, planning, and executing community studies, and Intervention studies in the field of Public Health
• Experience working with government departments, especially in education and health will be an added advantage.
• Knowledge of qualitative research and experience in conducting Focus Group Discussions (FGDs), In-Depth Interviews (IDIs), Key Informant Interviews (KIIs), etc.
• Proficiency in Marathi Language is essential.
• Experience in managing and maintaining databases for research projects.
• Candidates with previous research publications will receive preferential consideration
Job Description:
• Manage & coordinate multi-centric field studies.
• Engage with the Health and Education district-level functionaries for effective implementation of project activities.
• Overall management of the project and day-to-day management of the district-level project staff.
• Convene meetings and write minutes, coordinating with sites and research institutes in consultation with Project PI.
• Independently initiate and handle public health research data
• Perform any other tasks assigned by the competent authority or the PI of the Project.
• The position requires extensive local travel within the Sindhudurg district and other sites in India
